WHILE ONE PROJECT MANAGEMENT BELIEVES IN MALICE
Particularly to those with differing beliefs (see tweet at left), since "I get too mean, I get too arrogant, too snarky, and too cynical." (Timothy Gillespie, The Way of Jesus, One Project Seattle Gathering 2014, minute 17, http://vimeo.com/89451702)
BUT ... A MURDERER? (SEE TWEET AT LEFT) / SORDID CONFESSION OF LONGTIME ONE PROJECT CHAIRMAN
"We love violence". (Alex Bryan, ...to Be Continued: Acts 8:9-25 Sermon, Walla Walla University Church, 24 Feb 2018, Minute 42)
THE ULTIMATE DAMNATION OF THE ONE PROJECT
"The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion." (Psalm 11:5 NIV, Holy Bible)
AND WHY DOES THE ONE PROJECT LOVE VIOLENCE? / SADISM
"We love the entertainment of violence." (Alex Bryan, ...to Be Continued: Acts 8:9-25 Sermon, Walla Walla University Church, 24 Feb 2018, Minute 42)
FAITHFUL ADVENTISTS WERE GETTING SUSPICIOUS
"Cannot my taste discern perverse things?" (Job 6:30, Holy Bible)
SO NOT SURPRISINGLY
"Opponents have shouted out "You're a witch!" to leaders as they drive away from gatherings. In one city two young men donned sackcloth and ashes and sat outside the venue of the TOP gathering." (William G. Johnsson, the One project: Why I'm Mad, Spectrum, 1 Sep 2016)
CHANGING THE TALK -- BUT NOT THE WALK
So these men decided to talk about adoration of Jesus: "The One project seeks—through gatherings, conversations, web-based content, and Christ-focused publications—to stimulate preaching, worship, and adoration of Jesus within and through the Adventist church." https://the1project.org/about
The same Jesus who commanded "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you". (Matthew 5:44, Holy Bible)
When the One Project does the exact opposite.
PASTOR ALEX BRYAN IS "BUILT"
"I was standing there admiring myself."
WHEN LOVE CAME KNOCKING
ALEX BRYAN'S DREAM COMES TRUE
He was cut, ripped, buff, ready to go.
A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY
Our eyes locked, and neither one of us could look away. We just stood there, staring at one another." (Alex Bryan, ...to Be Continued: Acts 8:9-25 Sermon, Walla Walla University Church, 24 Feb 2018, Minute 55)
BUT THEN NATURE TOOK IT'S COURSE
"My brother, I've been to your house. I've had the dirty bird". (Tim Gillespie, The Heresy Response Sermon, One Project 6 Gathering, http://vimeo.com/71480214 minute 14)(see at left) The dirty bird is a group sex act.
These men are all Adventist ministers, so word started to get around.
DANNY JACKSON CRACKS DOWN
"We have always known that it couldn't last forever, and have spent the past year contemplating how and when to draw this particular phase of our journey to an end." (The One Project Announces End to Its Gatherings, 25 Aug 2017)
They ultimately decided to end it with a blow-out celebration too hot for the internet: "Before the final event, two earlier gatherings on the calendar — Atlanta (Oct. 21-22, 2017), and Sydney (Feb. 3-4, 2018), will be available only for those physically present. No audio or video recordings will be made." (The One Project Announces End to Its Gatherings, 25 Aug 2017)
And so we've chronicled the journey of the One Project -- from an essentially violent (see Alex Bryan, ...to Be Continued: Acts 8:9-25 Sermon, Walla Walla University Church, 24 Feb 2018, Minute 42) and cruel cult (Timothy Gillespie, The Way of Jesus, One Project Seattle Gathering 2014, minute 17, http://vimeo.com/89451702), to an organization promoting love.
Not necessarily the same flavour of love found at an agape love feast or celebration of the Lord's Supper in one of our wonderful Adventist churches.
But nevertheless, they've made some progress "toward authentic Adventism". (see tweet at left)
